Dear friends,
I am proud to share some remarkable updates happening across our campuses. One of New York Tech’s most impactful initiatives is the training of osteopathic physicians, particularly in the Mississippi Delta region through our NYITCOM-Arkansas location on the Arkansas State University campus. This area faces significant challenges in healthcare access. By equipping our medical students with the skills and knowledge to address the unique needs of this community, we are not only fulfilling New York Tech’s mission to educate future physicians but also making a direct, positive impact on the health and well-being of underserved populations.
Dear Friends,

Another prime area of focus is positioning New York Tech as an R2-level research university on par with other leading scientific institutions. In this issue, we highlight faculty members and students who are furthering research in areas such as vision patterns and eye-tracking technology, artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare-related research (notably, in skin tissue, biomedicine, and neurology and psychiatry), and ways to improve mobility in urban environments.
The integration of AI in research is particularly intriguing, given its impact across a variety of disciplines, such as science, mathematics, engineering, and medicine. AI continues to revolutionize not just the way we solve complex challenges but also how to approach teaching and learning, with the ability to make knowledge more efficient, accurate, and accessible. Finding the right balance of how best to leverage AI tools in classrooms, research labs, and the workplace is not a question that is likely to be answered soon. However, we must best determine how to balance these technologies as they continue to impact and even revolutionize how we work, learn, and live.
Sincerely,
Henry C. Foley, Ph.D.
