New York Tech Welcomes New Deans
Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences Charles N. Moore
On July 1, Jaishankar Ganesh, Ph.D., officially joined New York Tech as dean of the School of Management. He had been with the Rutgers School of Business–Camden, part of the State University of New Jersey. In describing what attracted him to New York Tech, he notes the university’s visionary leaders, asset mix of schools and colleges, and locational strength with campuses in New York and Vancouver, among the factors. “Successful leaders in academia today are those who understand and respect tradition but also those who help to enable change. I see that ecosystem for innovation and change in place at New York Tech and want to be part of its vibrant, dynamic culture,” he says.
Charles N. Moore, Ph.D., joined the College of Arts and Sciences on September 1. He comes from Washington State University where he served as professor and chair in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
Moore has extensive experience in leading large academic departments, research, and in pursuing student- and faculty-centric approaches to leadership. His responsibilities include increasing research support in line with the goal of achieving high research activity at the university. A Ph.D. program in chemistry has received preliminary approval and will be further developed under his leadership.
